Total Core Fitness review
Finally got my Total Core Fitness machine. It’s kinda heavy, about 7kg. It was very easy to assemble, took me less than 2 minutes to connect a couple of attachments then I was ready to go. I tried it out immediately, and initially I thought I wasn’t getting a workout since I could easily get up with aid from the machine. (This was just a couple of situps). When I tried it out again, I did 35 situps in no time and this time I did notice my middle section feeling a little burn. When you lean back the machine provides resistance, so I suppose this works out my back. And when you get back up the machine helps to push you back up, so it was quite easy to get up initially, but as I did more situps it became a tad more difficult – but still a lot easier than getting back up without any assistance at all. It might be a different case for a person who weighs 200 lbs or more though, I’m not sure. I weigh about 145lbs and plan to lose 30lbs.
It really was very easy to use, just sit, lean back, get back up…. you can do it while watching TV, you won’t realize you’ve done 100 situps in no time. Unfortunately, the Total Core did not come with any guide (except for the assembly manual) on how many situps you need to do to lose inches in 10-days that they mention in their infomercial. So, I’ll play it by ear I guess. Actually I plan to use it as often as possible, but probably pace myself in the first few days. (Update: I called HSN and I was informed that the exercise getting started guide DVD, meal plan, etc. are not included in the product released here in the Philippines. It’s replaced instead by the HipHop Abs, which I think is a better deal.)
I have to mention that I think the 2 products: Total Core and HipHop Abs, would probably be effective by themselves also. It was also a nice touch that the HipHop Abs package included a tape measure, and a card to record your body measurements, before and after completing the workout plan. I was planning to buy a tape measure and was pleasantly surprised to find it included already. Just for the record, my waist measures 35inches… this from a girl who used to think a 28-inch waist was big. So you can see why I needed an ab workout machine. 🙂 I plan to use just the Total Core machine in the first 10 days, just to see if it really works, then combine with HipHop Abs later.
I’ll post an update later when I start losing inches… hopefully soon. Am I too optimistic that this will work?

It’s been several years since I posted this, and I was pleasantly surprised by the number of comments that this post has received. I don’t have anything positive to report however, since I stopped using the Total Core after about a week of not seeing nor feeling any improvement. There is a saying that when there’s no pain, there’s no gain. I absolutely felt no pain when I was using the Total Core. And I did not see any difference. One week is probably not enough time, so it could have worked for somebody more patient than I am. I have modified the theme of this blog to highlight the comments of those who have shared their experience with Total Core, whether good or bad. Thanks for reading and hope we could all stay fit! I was sceptical at first so bought one off e-bay for around £30. I have been using it about 3-4 times a week and can’t do 100’s of sit ups yet like other people due to a spinal problem through surgery, but even the gentle exercise has made a difference. I have yet to see if what seems like the ‘6 week’ test for the springs going is true, but if you look around you can get this product quite cheaply.
i also interested in this ab excercise machine plz tell me about the correct information about it because i m fade up of fat stomach
I have also seen this product in Telebrands and about to buy this product. But now I am very confused to buy or not as the reviews are very bad for this product as well as the sellers of this product.

I saw the total core advert and became excited. I decided to try it out and got a colleague that was going to the US to purchase and ship it to me in Nigeria. the total core machine arrived in January 2011. I have used it for about a month now and really surprised at how my stomach has reduced in size. unfortunately, a few days ago, one of the resistance springs broke and i am so unhappy because i can no longer use it. On this note, i will not advise any body to buy total core because it made with cheap materials and therefore not durable

i ordered this machine named ‘total core’. I checkd the reviews on the internet and i cancelled my order. custer care rpresentative gave me canceltion no. howevre they debited the amount from my account. Big Time Cheater. i asked to return my money they said that they are sending the product. i asked them that i am not intrested in it and custemer care rep hunged up the phone. now i am unable to reach them. i got the machine few days before but i was supposed to get a gym ball with that which i did get. But the pump was broken. i was not in good condation. i wanna sue them and i will. Please Please do not buy any product from them because they are very unusefull. Telebrands is just making money and nothing else. Telebrands is lire, and the biggest cheater of the year. think twice brfore making any decison

Doing high repetition abdominal exercise will not burn sufficient calories in order to lose weight, if you have lost weight using this product then then you have changed your energy balance in some other way either by reducing your caloric intake or engaging in other activity’s that are been metabolicly significant enough to have mobilised your fat stores for energy.
Secondly we all know by now that spot reduction is impossible don’t we? that is exercising a muscle group will not burn the fat overlying that muscle group for energy, the body just doesn’t work that way.
Thirdly the whole design concept of the machine is wrong and robs resistance from the rectus abdominus and oblique the major abdominal muscles and places emphasises on and encourages the engagement of the hip flexors.
The correct way to exercise the abdominal muscles is to draw your sternum towards your groin area (or vica versa) in an arc this engages the rectus abdominus and the obliques.
The abdominal muscle are skeletal muscles and should be exercised in the same way as any other skeletal muscle, hight repetitions and training them every day is not needed
and is actually counter productive.
This kind of hyped, badly designed and dishonestly marketed product really annoys me as it not only a waste of peoples hard earned money, but I’m sure a poor experience with this type of product leaves people believing that exercise will not provide the enormous benefits to them that it has the potential to, when appropriately applied.
Do your selves a favour and arm yourselves with the knowledge to make informed choices regarding your fitness/exercise, I’d suggest goggling ‘Dr Doug McGuff’ as a starting point.

Well I am still waiting for delivery of this thing. I paid extra for speedy delivery, ie. within 3 days and that was almost 9 days ago. I have recieved no notification from new image/high street shopping channel, they are very quick to take your money but offer NO service afterwards. If you can get it anywhere else I would do so as this lot don`t seem to care about cutomers after the money is paid. I think the best thing they can do is teach some of their customer service team some manners too. Bad idea to buy from here!!!!

I baught trhis machine 5 weeks ago,I hadnt got alot of faith in it,and seen it more as a stand in for when I cant go Gym..I have been going Gym 5 days a week since last Sept,have lost 3 inchs from my tummy,have only been 5 weeks on machine and have dropped a further 5 inches.I am of slim built,middle age..47yrs,and had tummy fat,seriously,if used constantly this works,along with proper food intake.

I think ppl are really missing the use of this machine. It dose not make you loose weight. Take note of that. It only assist you in doing situps without much strain on ur back.
From all the comments here I haven’t heared anyone says it isn’t assisting in that purpose. Therefor, for the purpose it was meant for, the machine works period.

All these machines will only help to tone your body. To really loose fat and see the effect of these machines,you got to incorporate cardio exercise like swimming, jogging etc. Only these cardio will help to burn fat,and thus revealing the muscles built and to show a very tone abs. And of course, diet control is also very impt, therefore on top of exercising, you will need to manage your diet (low fat – low carbo – low calories) in order to see faster results. By the way, losing fat doesn’t mean losing weight. You might maintain weight whereas when you look more slim and tone. This is because fat is very light. While exercising, you are burning fats but yet building muscles. Muscles are of higher density than fats. Some people might experience increase in weight as well. I think this ab machine is a good one to incorporate into your exercise regime if you really want to tone your abs and not to injure your back and neck. The springs actually helps reducing the impact on your back and neck as how conventional sit-up and crutches does.

People are under the impression that this product will burn fat and make them lose weight. I am a gym intructor and I will inform you that no product will do this! Losing weight will only be acheived by calorie controlled dieting….period! Of course machines will help you tone your body and I’m sure the Total Core will just do that but it will not make you lose weight. Purchase this product if you are just interested in toning your mid section…..do not purchase this product if you are casrrying a lot of body fat around the belly area. The commercial shows very overweight people using the Total Core but this is just a sales pitch. TO SEE RESULTS….YOU MUST ALREADY BE SLIM!
so how long can it survive, i am afraid that after i buy then it breaks it is very wastefull and wasted 1 month of my hard work saving

This machine is a joke. It doesn’t do much of anything BUT the real problem is the shady company. They sent and then subsequently billed me for two, when I only ordered one. Would they return it? Sure at my expense. After insisting to speak to a manager, I was supposedly mailed prepaid postage. The packing slip indicates the first payment paid and “automatic charge in 30 days) for the balance. It’s been 11 days and the automatic charge was charged… for two! Thanks for the warning! After an hour on the phone, no satisfactory reply. Don’t buy anything from this company. The stress far outweighs any potential benefit.

I watched the Total Core with my wife on TV just now and we were both amazed with what we saw as regards the machine. I decided to browse the internet for information on it. My confession which agrees with the comments on the screen is that I have srtained my back while trying to burn the fat in my tommy, yet no result.

Brought this machine and it came with no instructions or dvd. Did ring them to find out about the dvd but only got answering machine. Left 2 message but have had no reply yet. I am going to give it a go anyway and will let you know how it works for me.

had the total core about a week now, I set it up and started the day after, if you corporate the eating aswell as the 20 min cardio or walking it does work. I’v noticed some difference within 3 days. the bands bave not broke yet though and I weigh 168 pounds. I do about 150 a day and i am sweating

hello friend last night i saw this add and i was shocked to know that the ladies on screen was enjoing the situps but in my opinion the workout should couse little tension and sweating burning , if burning is not there then how the fats would lose from your abs.

i bought this workout machine..and i don’t think its really that effective..you wont really feel much on your abs while doing it..plus there’s no guide on how many situps you should do a day..

I want to let every one know that the Total Core system is a rip off. I bought it for my husband because it would help him with keeping his upper body strength up, he had an accident last fall and had to have surgery on his leg so it is hard for him to do sit ups. He used the system only 3-4 times a week and it broke about 1 month into useing it. Both springs broke and I am lucking he didn’t hurt his back the way it through him back. I suggest anybody that is considering buying this system not to. I wasted $150.00 on this system. Nobody answers the phone when you call to get help. SO DO NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM!!!!!

hey, for everyone wondering, this machine is amazing! ive been using it for 7 days now and have already lost 1 size and you can clearly see the difference in my tummy. i did 250 sit ups the first and second day, 500 the third, 250 the fourth and fifth, 500 hundred the 6th and so on. i love this machine and would buy it again in an instant!
After purchasing the machine and used it lightly one of the springs broke.tried to call the company to inquire but realized there is no adress or customer service unless you are placing an order.The phone number is only for orders and cant get anybody to talk with from the company.
I am very hesitant and I think it was a very bad choice.
I would remane this machine Total Bore; Total Lore; Total Snore; Please, please Totally Ignore this machine; it is not worth its weight in gold. I must say as a skeptic I bought it with the $1.00 trial and was totally unimpressed by it. I tried the workout but only came to realize that all this “White Elephant” does is keep you off the floor and all the rest is up to you. The ad said that if you could sit in a chair then you could use it, and it was correct because using it was just like sitting in a chair: a flat one doing nothing. I got a medicine ball and decided to go to the mat. Proper form is important when working from the floor so that you can feel the burn and avoid pains in other parts of the body except the abdomen. Well check this out. I called them to return their “Total Flaw” to them and they were quite upset. The guy at the other end offered me an $80.00 discount if I were to keep it. An $80 discount on a product that alledgedly cost $119 huuuu. Trust I told him that I didn’t want it even if it were free. He said, “Sir, it makes no sense to ship the unit back because it is going to cost you another $20 to ship it back, so you will be out the forward and return shipping cost. Take the $80 discount and keep the unit.” I told him that I did not care; it my money I got burnt but hey, I learnt. He was so upset; did even want to give me the return shipping information and kept on going on about how silly it was to waste MY money. After a while i stopped talking to let him finish and at the end I said, “Could you joust process me as going to ship your piece of shit back!” So now I am warning you; don”t waste your time nor money, especially in these economics times. Get a mat and a medicine ball and hit the floor. It works; I am already felling the pain in the right place: In my abdominal, not in my wallet.

It’s been said that Britney Spears used to do 100 situps pre-Kevin Federline. So if you can easily do 100 situps and get a cardio workout from HipHop Abs, I’m optimistic it’ll work out for you in no time.
